Description
Based on a true story of events and actions of my wife and I driving a Semi Truck from IBM in Minnesota to Ontario, California. We were rerouted due to weather conditions and had to drive to Amarillo, Texas. There we were not to proceed west to California because Interstate 40 was closed due to serve weather conditions. We spent 4 days at the TA Truck stop and got caught up on everything. When we were told by the news we could proceed just on the other side of the New Mexico state line we encountered several Tornado’s, flying debris, hail the size of baseballs and even a flying cow. We were instructed to fine a safe place to park out in the wide open there were none. We drove right into our first tornado before we were able to find shelter under a overpass. We had several four wheeler s (cars) pull up beside us and park. We helped save their lives as well as our own. Several people had their cars taken away from the tornado so we had to give them a ride to the next safe place in Tumcancari, New Mexico. There we reported the incident to the local Sheriff and his deputies. After a few more days in Santa Fe, New Mexico at another TA Truck stop we were able to continue to deliver our time sensitive load to IBM. Then we took a very well and needed vacation.
