Description

This is a fictional story based on actual facts and historical events. A group of wagons get together in Virgin City, Utah and create a very large Wagon Train trekking from southern Utah and some from California and Nevada all looking for a
chance for a new start. As Mormons and Christians they got very rude and bad behavioral things happen to them in the small community of Virgin City, Utah. They had a big meeting and read newspaper stories of all the extra land available in and around Bismarck, North Dakota. My dad Mr. James Elmo Andrews wired ahead and purchased our land that we would be traveling to get our new start. When we started we had almost a 100 wagons and gained a few along the way. We had to cross raging rivers, steep mountain grades going up and down into valleys below. We encountered many famous Indians along the way like Geronimo, Sitting bull and heard and read stories of General George Custer and his wife Libby. We got to see beautiful scenery and also had bad things happen to some of us along the way. We had one family catch Cholera and others with German Measles. We had rattle snakes attack our wagons as we traveled along the desert land and grassy fields. We crossed the Colorado River and Green River where John Wesley Powell and others discovered it. We encountered gun fights, saloons in Deadwood, South Dakota. We got to meet many people at Fort Casper, Fort Laramie and others. We lived happy singing, children games, all different kinds of families. We had around 11 or 12 wagons join us who happened to be black families (African Americans), who taught us songs, way of living, way of traveling over areas that they once had traveled before. We got to listen to them and their many musical instruments and hearing their choir.
